American football fans can purchase tickets by calling the Don Valley Stadium box office on 01142 565 567 or by visiting www.arenaticketshop.co.uk/whats-on/britbowl-2012/ Tickets can also be bought at the stadium on the day of the finals.
The action begins at 1pm on Saturday August 25 with the Division 2 Final, followed by the Division 1 Final at 6pm. Sunday August 26 kicks off at 2pm with the Junior Kitted Final before the elite Premier Division Final brings the curtain down on the weekend’s action at 7pm.
National Leagues Director Drew Anderson says: “It’s a really exciting time for British American football at the moment and our BritBowl weekend is going to be very special with more than 1,000 players taking part in 16 finals at various levels over the two days. This is a massive event for the British American football community.
“We decided this year not to have 20 prices for 20 different levels of tickets, so it is £10. It doesn’t matter if you come for one day or two days, see one final or four games, it’s £10. And if you want to watch any of the games outside of the main arena, they’re absolutely free.
“If there are any young kids in the Sheffield area who want to watch the games, drag your parents along and you will get in for free when they buy a ticket.”
Among the leading teams racing to reach the elite Premier Division Final are the London Warriors – who feature television presenter and huge NFL fan Vernon Kay among their playing squad – the defending champions, the London Blitz and Scotland’s leading team, the East Kilbride Pirates.
BritBowl XXVI will also feature live music performances, as well as a host of entertainment and attractions for all the family. The gates open at 12 noon on both days.
